Kitchen Construction and Design

The design of a kitchen takes into account various factors such as space, appliance needs, functionality, and aesthetics.

Basic Stages of Kitchen Construction

Design: The first step is selecting a kitchen according to your needs and preferences. This includes choosing the length & kitchen layout, materials to be used, and the appliances to be installed.

Material Selection: The kitchen can be constructed using melamine, with doors made of melamine or MDF. Choose the appropriate materials, considering durability, ease of maintenance, and aesthetics.

Construction: The kitchen units, such as cabinets and drawers, are manufactured using automated machinery.

Materials Used in Kitchen Construction

Materials from the AKRITAS company, specifically from the STANDARD series, are used.

Melamine panels feature an innovative AKRIPAN® particleboard core with a decorative melamine coating on both sides.

MDF panels are high-density fiberboards with a PET foil decorative surface on both sides.

Compliance with European Standards

AKRITAS products exceed European standards for:

• Scratch resistance
• Chemical resistance
• Cracking test durability

They comply with the following standards:

• EN 312 (Types P2, P5)
• EN 14323, EN 14322, EN 438-2, EN 311
• Formaldehyde Class E1 and CARB 2 certification

STANDARD Series

The STANDARD series offers a dynamic range of 64 colors and designs, following market trends and contemporary design. The collection includes solid colors, wood, cement, and fabric imitation designs, available in different textures to enhance the colors, providing a realistic feel and refined appearance.

Available Finishes

There are 13 different textures that add depth and enhance the surfaces, emphasizing the character of each design and giving an aesthetically pleasing result:

1. P0 – Smooth surface (default)
2. P1 – Woodgrain: A fine-textured wood grain pattern
3. P2 – Ash wood: A refined embossed wood grain texture
4. P3 – Soft: A slightly porous finish
5. P4 – Linen texture: Ideal for fabric and cement imitation décors
6. P6 – Super soft: Matte texture giving a natural wood feel
7. P7 – Soft woodgrain: A subtle and elegant wood texture
8. P8 – Vertical embossed woodgrain
9. P9 – Horizontal embossed woodgrain
10. P10 – Super matte woodgrain with a veneer-like appearance
11. P11 – Saw-cut texture, resembling freshly cut wood
12. P12 – Uni pore: Horizontal woodgrain with a soft matte finish
13. P14 – Hephaestus: Matte finish with deep grain resembling painted solid wood

Kitchen Base and Countertops

The kitchen stands on height-adjustable plastic legs. The gap is covered with a nickel matte plastic plinth.

The countertops used are also from the Akritas STANDARD series, featuring a core of either AKRIPAN® particleboard or HYDROPAN® waterproof particleboard. The surface is coated with HPL (High-Pressure Laminate), which offers high resistance to:

• Abrasion
• Scratches
• High temperatures
• Moisture and acids

HYDROPAN® waterproof particleboard is specifically designed to resist moisture (EN 312 Type P5) and is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and laboratories.

Countertop Dimensions:

• Length: 4.20 m
• Width: 60 cm (with 1 curve) and 40, 64, 80 cm (with 2 curves)
• Thickness: 30 mm and 40 mm
• Profiles: L and U

For additional protection and finishing, an aluminum edge trim is installed around the countertop.

The warranty can be selected to match the warranty of your oikiskos.

Construction Time:

Select the same height as you have chosen for your oikiskos

Default: Based on production flow.
Optional: You can choose the Fast Pass service for faster delivery.

Transportation:

The kitchen can be transported using a curtain-sided truck or a conventional flatbed truck.

If the kitchen is purchased along with a new prefabricated unit, there is no transportation charge, as it will be delivered with the same truck transporting the unit.

Otherwise, transportation is charged as follows:

• For kitchens with lengths 1.20m up to 2.50m 1,20 per item of truck bed length.
• For kitchens with lengths 2.50m up to 5.00m 2,40 per item of truck bed length.
• For kitchens with lengths 5.00m up to 7.50m 3,60 per item of truck bed length.
• The shipping cost is calculated automatically at checkout, or it can be added manually by checking the locations of the technical support points hereto include an additional material transportation service.

CO₂ Emission Offset:

• Default: 100% offset of estimated CO₂ emissions.
• No offset.
• Partial offset: 50% of estimated CO₂ emissions.

Material Lifting:

Materials can be unloaded using a forklift or a truck-mounted crane.

To calculate the required lifting power, multiply the weight of the prefabricated unit by the installation distance.

If there are obstacles (such as trees, fences, or cables), a larger crane will be required.

If you are unsure, you can send us a small sketch and photos so we can calculate the required lifting capacity for you.

Initial setup requires 0.5 work hours for a crane or forklift per kitchen meter.

Installation:

The kitchen installation in the prefabricated unit is carried out by two skilled technicians.

Installation is not included in the prices. You can purchase the service of "kitchen installing" here.

Required work time: 1 day.

Power Supply for Installation:

A power supply is required for installation. If there is no connection to the grid, a generator ιs available at an additional charge.
